Frederick Mundy lived at 5 Augustine Street, Taunton, with his parents George and Mary.  His father was a plumber and Frederick worked as a winder in the silk mills.  He  died as part of the 4th Division participating in the Battle of Valenciennes in the last days of the war, fighting to take the village of Presau.  This was the last action of the Great War which the Somerset Light Infantry was to participate in.

His brother Clifford Mundy, who died in the Third Battle of the Aisne, is also listed on the St James War Memorial.
